Nowadays, it is quite common for people to make money online. There are a number of ways in making money online and this article would discuss some of the more common venue in the internet. This is through SEO, content management and answering paid surveys. There are still multitudes of ways but we will focus on these three.

The first one is through SEO. Companies pay a lot of money for SEO or Search Engine Optimization consultants. The main job description of an SEO consultant is someone who manages a website to make it more visible. This is done by improving the page rank of the website among the different search engines like Google and Yahoo. This is done through a series of steps. First, you define your target markets, or niches that you want to penetrate. This way, you can ensure that the traffic coming in to the website is qualified and prospective clients of the owner of the site. You use specific keywords that would normally be searched by your chosen niche, and keep building content on that. This kind of SEO is called white hat and this is the preferred tool of search engines.

The second way is in content management. This is more commonly observed in blogging. Blogging in a way is a form of content management in such a way that they boost their page rank by constantly increasing the number of pages. If you are still not aware, the mathematical formula for computing page rank includes the number of pages as a big factor. That is why a lot of companies employ the services of other companies to do content management for them. What is normally done is to create a separate website, increase its page rank through content generation, and create backlinks to the original site. This way, the page rank of the content generator would flow to the original site since backlinks is like giving a vote to a site that it linked to.

The next, and probably the easiest and is normally done by housewives, is by answering paid surveys. There are a lot of companies in the internet that offers to pay you a certain amount of money for every survey that you answer. This is a new style in marketing because then the marketers don’t have to actually gather their correspondents. The test subjects would willingly answer the question and it also weeds out the possibility of a bias since the subjects would answer the questions honestly since their answers would not affect their payments.

There are still a lot of ways that you can earn a living through online means. You just have to do some research and see what other opportunities are available for you.

Cheers
